The West Central Trojan track team hosted the Dak-12 Conference meet on Thursday, May 9th. The boys team finished second with a score of 115. The girls team placed eighth with 34 points.
Molly Anderson placed fourth in the long jump. Bailey Stallman was sixth in the 800m run and seventh in the 400m dash. Clara Nelson was eighth in the 400m dash. The 4x200m relay team finished second. The 4x100m relay team was third. The 4x800m relay team placed fourth, and the 4x400m relay team was fifth.
Layton Johnson won the 100m dash with a time of :11.45. Liam Schmeichel won the 110m hurdles in a time of :14.98, placed second in the high jump, and finished third in the 300m hurdles. Jude Jarding took the top spot in the 200m dash with a time of :22.80 and won the 400m dash with a time of :49.65. Rylee Hartung was third in the 200m dash. Benjamin Strunk took third in the 800m run. Jonathan Roth was sixth in the 1600m run. Crew Heier was fourth in the shot put. Zach Nielsen placed fifth in the high jump. Ben Vuong took sixth in the triple jump. Cain Grocott was eighth in the javelin.
The 4x200m relay team of Schmeichel, Patrick Hammond, Elliot DeJong, and Jarding won with a time of 1:32.03. The 4x400m relay team of Hammond, DeJong, Hartung, and Jarding finished first with a time of 3:29.72. The 4x100m relay team placed third. The 4x800m relay team was fifth, and the sprint medley relay team took sixth.
