West Central Boys Rally Past Madison in Second Half

The West Central Trojan boys rallied in third quarter to get a come-from-behind win over the Madison Bulldogs on Friday, February 9th.  The Trojans took the road victory by a score of 61-56.

The Bulldogs held a one-point advantage at the end of the first quarter, 18-17.  They would extend that lead to four points, 31-27, by halftime.  Madison had their largest lead of the game, six points, after scoring the first basket of the third quarter.  The Trojans would start their rally from there.  West Central went on a 16-7 run from that point to take a 43-40 lead into the fourth quarter.  The momentum continued for West Central as they built an 11-point lead in the fourth quarter before holding for the win.

The Trojans shot 54% (21-39) overall, 50% (11-22) from three-point area, and 53% (8-15) from the free-throw line.  Madison finished the game shooting 40% (19-48) overall, 38% (11-29) from three-point area, and 78% (7-9) from the free-throw line.

Connor Mebius finished with 27 points and two assists.  Will Kuhl added 15 points and four steals.  Brodie Herr had six points and two rebounds.  Paden Schulte ended with five points and three rebounds.
