The West Central Trojan girls cruised past Madison 66-26 on Friday, February 2nd. The Bulldogs stayed within three points of the Trojans, 17-14, through the first quarter of play. West Central then outscored Madison 16-1 in the second quarter for a 33-15 lead. The Trojans outscored the Bulldogs 33-11 in the second half, which included West Central holding Madison scoreless in the fourth quarter.
West Central shot 38% (24-64) overall in the game, 34% (11-29) on three-point attempts, and 70% (7-10) from the free-throw line. Madison finished the game shooting 30% (9-30) overall, 39% (5-13) on three-point attempts, and 38% (3-8) from the free-throw line. The Trojan defense forced 31 Bulldog turnovers, 23 of those on steals.
Kacy Jaton had 21 points, five rebounds, three assists, and six steals. Jazelle Jarding finished with 14 points, six rebounds, two assists, and six steals. Molly Anderson had nine points and four rebounds. Mara Schultz added eight points, three rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Alexa Borns had seven points.
