Trojan Boys Drop Dak-12 Battle with Vermillion

The West Central Trojans hosted Dak-12 foe, Vermillion, in their second straight home game to start the season on Tuesday, December 12th.  After regaining the lead in the third quarter, Vermillion held for a 62-55 conference win.

A run late in the first quarter put Vermillion in front 20-15 at the quarter break.  They extended the lead to 33-27 by halftime.  West Central opened the third quarter on a 7-0 run to take a 34-33 lead with 6:15 to play in the quarter.  The Tanagers regained the lead and had a 49-43 advantage going into the final quarter.  The Trojans were able to get within four points, but Vermillion closed out the game down the stretch for the 62-55 win.

Crew Heier had 15 points, four rebounds, and two steals.  Jake Kuhl finished with 11 points, 15 rebounds, and three assists.  Brodie Herr added 10 points, five rebounds, and two assists.  Connor Mebius also had 10 points with two rebounds.
