West Central Boys and Girls Wrestling Teams Claim Top Spot at Rider Invitational

Both the girls and boys West Central wrestling teams finished at the top of the 2023 Rider Invitational on Saturday, December 2nd.  The boys finished with a total of 290.5 points, almost 100 points better than second place Sioux Falls Jefferson (194.0).  The girls team finished tied for first with Sioux Falls Roosevelt with 22 points each.

Kaden Haakinson won the 106-pound class with three pins.  Bentley Klinkhammer won the 113-pound class with three wins.  Chandler Carda won the 165-pound division with a 4-0 record.  Gavin Pischke won the 285-pound division with a 3-0 record.

Alex Siemonsma took second in the 113-pound class with a 2-1 record.  Karson Vessels was second in the 126-pound class with a 2-1 record.  Langdon Klinkhammer also placed second in the 138-pound class with a 3-1 record.  Jesse Jost was runner-up in the 144-pound division with a 2-1 record.  Keaton Vessells placed second in the 157-pound class with a 2-1 record.

Caden Roe (106) finished third with a 3-1 record. Orlando Whiting (132) finished third with a 3-1 record. Hayden Whiting (150) also took third with a 4-1 record.  Rayce Whiting (175) took third with a 3-1 record.  Gabe Gebhard (215) was third with a 3-1 record.

Brason Parmely (120) placed fourth with a 2-2 record.

Jett Whiting (106) was fifth with a 2-2 record.  Kadyn Sauers (144) was fifth also with a 2-2 record.  Andrew Holtzman (150) placed fifth with a 2-1 record.  Cody Opitz (215) took fifth with a 3-2 record.

Braxton Huber (165) had one win.

For the girls team, Kyliegh Schuller placed first with a bye and a pin.  Hailey Fortney also placed first with two wins.  Allison Foote took second with one forfeit victory.
