Trojan Wrestling Looking to Build on Successful Season Last Year

The West Central Trojan wrestling team had a successful year last year.  They finished 17-3 in dual record and also won the Rider Invite and West Sioux Tournament.  The Trojans also qualified for the state dual tournament and finished seventh as a team as well as had seven individually place winners.

This year the team will be led by nine seniors, four of which placed at the state tournament a year ago.  Chandler Carda (5th), Chet Carda (3rd), Gavin Pischke (6th), and Allison Foote (6th) all return as place winners at the state tournament last year.  They will be joined by fellow seniors Levi Anderson, Jesse Jost, Kadyn Sauers, Rayce Whiting, and Gabe Gebhard.

“We have a great core group of upperclassmen that will lead the way for us this year.  We also have a number of talented middle school and freshmen wrestlers that will be filling out our lineup.  It will be exciting to see how far the team has come over the past year and to see how far this group of seniors can take them,” said head coach Cole Grocott.
