West Central Volleyball Season Ends in Region Tournament

The West Central Trojan volleyball season came to an end in the Region 3A Tournament at Sioux Falls Christian on Tuesday, October 31st.  The Trojans lost to the #1 seeded Chargers in straight sets by scores of 25-12, 25-10, and 25-6.

The opening set started close with Sioux Falls Christian leading by just a point, 6-5.  The Chargers then went on an 7-1 run for a 13-6 lead.  They pushed the lead to 17-9.  West Central cut the lead to 18-12, but the Chargers finished the set on a 7-0 run for the 25-12 win.

The Trojans started the second set with a 2-0 lead, but the Chargers went on an 8-1 run for an 8-3 lead.  Sioux Falls Christian continued to roll from there and extended their lead to 17-8.  They led 22-10 before ending the set on a 3-0 run for a 25-10 win.

The momentum followed Sioux Falls Christian into the third set.  The Chargers started the third set with a 7-1 lead.  They extended that lead to 16-4 and then finished the match on a 9-2 run for the 25-6 win.

Marissa Dobbs had five kills and five set assists.  Ella Harden and Kaia Gabbert each had two kills.  Jocelyn Nilson had a team-high seven digs, and Avery Nothdurft had four digs.  Ellie Lienhard had four set assists.

West Central finishes the season with a 4-21 overall record.
