Trojan Volleyball Suffers Road Loss in Baltic

The West Central Trojan volleyball team traveled to Baltic in a Region 3A battle against the Bulldogs on Tuesday, September 12th.  Baltic took the win in straight sets by scores of 25-15, 25-11, and 25-10.

The first set started with a 3-3 tie.  Baltic scored the next three points for 6-3 lead.  The Trojans then went on a 5-1 run to take an 8-7 lead.  The Bulldogs responded with a 7-2 run to go ahead 14-10.  They continued to lead 16-13 before ending the set on a 9-2 run for a 25-15 win.

The Bulldogs held a slim 6-4 lead to start the second set.  Baltic then went on a 6-0 run to extend the lead to 12-4.  That run put the Bulldogs in control of the set.  They built a 23-9 lead before winning 25-11.  The third set started close with Baltic leading 5-4.  The Bulldogs then went on a 12-2 run for a 17-6 lead.  Baltic won the third set 25-10.

Maddy Ingalls finished with four kills.  Kaia Gabbert had three kills.  Elle Lienhard had a team-high seven set assists, and Marissa Dobbs had five set assists.  Jocelyn Nilson ended with 16 digs.  Avery Nothdurft added nine digs, and Landry Heath had an ace serve.
