The West Central Trojan volleyball team hosted Dak-12 foe, Vermillion Tanagers, in the season-opening match on Tuesday, August 23rd.
The Trojans earned a straight-set win over Vermillion. They cruised to a first set victory, 25-13. The next two sets were a closer battle, but West Central won both of them. The Trojans won the second set 25-20 and then won the third set 25-21.
Maria Peterson led the team with seven kills. Aubree Miller finished with six kills. Marissa Dobbs had a team-high seven ace serves. Ellie Lienhard finished with 20 set assists on the night. Miller led the team with 2.5 blocks.
West Central (1-0) will host the Dell Rapids Quarriers on Thursday, August 25th.
