West Central scored just enough runs in the top of the first inning and survived six errors to get a 3-2 road win over Garretson on Thursday, May 7th.
West Central scored three runs on four straight singles in the top of the first inning. Grafton Stroup had an RBI with his hit, and Noah Hohn drove home two with his hit. Garretson scored one of their runs in the bottom of the second inning on an error. The other run came in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI groundout.
Braden Herr and Stroup kept Garretson at bay all game long. Herr pitched five innings giving up two runs, neither earned, on just three hits with two walks and four strikeouts. Stroup pitched the final two innings without allowing a hit and struck out two batters.
Loren Jacobson had two hits in the game. Hohn had a single with two RBIs. Stroup had an RBI single. Ryan Healy had a double, and Ben Sebert, Zach Madsen, and Adam Parsons all had singles in the game.
West Central will travel to Dell Rapids on Monday, May 10th.
