The West Central Trojan track team were at the Region 3A track meet on Thursday, May 20th. The girls team finished second with a total of 129.5 points. The boys team had a third place finish with 100 total points.
Averi Schmeichel was the region champ in the 100m hurdles with a time of :14.74. Cambell Fischer also placed first in the shot put with a throw of 35’6″. Molli Thornton won the long jump with a jump of 16’7″. The 4x100m relay team of Jada VanOverbeke, Lily Sidel, Rylee Haldeman, and Emma Goehring placed first with a time of :51.78. The 4x200m relay team of Goehring, Sadie Berg, Sidel, and Thornton also had a first place finish with a time of 1:49.10.
Derek Eidsness placed first in the high jump with a jump of 6’3″. Gunnar Cuka won the long jump with a leap of 20’7.5″. The sprint medley relay team of Wyatt Nielsen, Mason Berens, Eidsness, and Justin Schumacher was first with a time of 3:48.11. The 4x200m relay team of Layton Johnson, Nielsen, Berens, and Eidsness was second. The 4x800m relay team of Dylan Sherard, Ben Strunk, Jude Jarding, Schumacher also had a second place finish.
