The Colton Legion Yard Goats dropped their last two ball games. Colton fell to Lennox on Friday, June 27th and then fell to Dakota Valley on Sunday, June 29th.
Lennox 7, Colton 6
A big rally in the bottom of the seventh gave Lennox a 7-6 come-from-behind win. Colton broke a scoreless tie with three runs in the top of the third. Lennox got one back in the bottom of the inning. Each team scored a run in the fourth, and the Yard Goats led 4-2 after four innings. Colton added two more runs in the top of the sixth to go ahead 6-2. Lennox then rallied for five runs to get the win.
Nathan Madison had two hits and an RBI. Carter Sorenson, Mason Hemme, and Tristen Bunde all had one hit and RBI each. Denton Bicknase and Parker Hemme also had one hit each. T. Bunde pitched four innings and allowed two runs, one earned, on three hits and four walks with five strikeouts. Braxton Allen threw two innings giving up a hit and five walks with one strikeout. Sorenson pitched 1/3 of an inning and allowed five earned runs on four hits and three walks.
Dakota Valley 5, Colton 1
Colton suffered another loss after holding a lead late in the game. The Yard Goats scored the first run of the game in the top of the second. The score stayed 1-0 until the bottom of the fifth. Dakota Valley tied the game in the bottom of the fifth. They then scored four times in the bottom of the sixth to take the win.
Allen and T. Bunde both had a hit in the game. Sorenson pitched five innings and allowed an unearned run on three hits and three walks with six strikeouts. Landon Schenkel pitched one inning and allowed four runs, two earned, on three hits and a walk.
