Yard Goats Beat Madison with Late Rally

The Colton Legion Yard Goats scored 10 of their 15 runs in the final four innings to get a 15-13 win over Madison on Monday, June 16th.

Colton scored three in the top of the first and held a 3-0 lead going into the bottom of the third.  Madison scored one run in the bottom of the third.  Colton added two more in the top of the fourth, but Madison scored five times in their half of the inning to go ahead 6-5.  Madison would get four more in the bottom of the fifth to extend the lead to 10-5.  Colton scored the next five runs, two in the sixth and three in the seventh, to tie the game 10-10.  Each team scored a run in the eighth inning.  The Yard Goats plated four runs in the ninth while holding Madison to just two runs for the 15-13 win.

Alex Wingen had three hits, one a double, and an RBI.  Brody Dybvig and Mason Hemme both had two hits and an RBI each.  Carter Sorenson also had two hits, one a double.  Braxton Allen had a triple and five RBIs.  Nathan Madison had a single with two RBIs.  Tristen Bunde, Parker Hemme, and Denton Bicknase all had one hit each.

Sorenson pitched 4 1/3 innings and allowed seven runs, six earned, on four hits and seven walks with two strikeouts.  Bunde pitched three innings and allowed three runs, two earned, on a hit and walk with two strikeouts.
