Two Big Innings Help Tri-Valley Softball to Win over Beresford

The Tri-Valley Mustang softball team won a wild game against the Beresford Watchdogs at home on Monday, May 5th.  Tri-Valley used two seven-run innings to help them to a 14-13 win over Beresford.

After the Watchdogs scored a run in the top of the first, Tri-Valley scored seven times in the bottom of the first.  Ava Christensen and Reagan Pearson both had home runs in the inning.  Beresford got two runs in the top of the third to cut the lead to 7-3.  The Watchdogs then had a big nine-run rally in the top of the fifth to go in front 12-7.

Tri-Valley then delivered their second seven-run inning in the bottom of the sixth.  Emery Pearson had a home run, and Syenna Halverson and Izzy Davey both had doubles in the inning.  The Watchdogs got one run in the top of the seventh, but Tri-Valley halted the rally to hang on for the win.

E. Pearson had two hits, one a home run, and three RBIs.  Christensen and R. Pearson both had two hits, including a home run, and two RBIs each.  Halverson had two hits, one a double, with an RBI.  Kadence Davey finished with two singles and an RBI.  I. Davey ended with a double.  Hailey Sorenson and Peyton Vogt both had one single each.

Jones pitched four innings and allowed seven runs, three earned, on six hits with two walks and seven strikeouts.  I. Davey tossed three innings and allowed six runs, all unearned, on five hits and a walk with three strikeouts.
