The Tri-Valley White 16U team snuck past Avera 9-8 on Tuesday, July 23rd.
The two teams were even through three innings of play. They both scored two runs in the first, one in the second, and two in the third for a 5-5 tie. Avera would score three times in the top of the fourth to take an 8-5 lead. Tri-Valley responded with four runs in the bottom of the inning for their first lead of the game, 9-8. Avera was then held scoreless in the top of the fifth inning.
Blake Schmidt had three hits and three RBIs. Zach Pester had two hits, one a double, and an RBI. Blaine Wieczorek also had two hits, including a double. Owen Bunde had a single with two RBIs. Gabriel VanDyke added a double and an RBI. Luke Strom finished with a single and an RBI. Sullivan Snethen also had a single.
