Tri-Valley White 16U Falls to Hy-Vee

The Tri-Valley White 16U baseball team, now 2-2 in the Sioux Empire Baseball Association (SEBA) league, fell to Hy-Vee 9-4 on Thursday, June 13th.

Hy-Vee scored three times in the top of the first and never let go of that lead.  Tri-Valley got a run in the bottom of the first.  Hy-Vee extended their lead to 5-1 after a two-run top of the second inning.  Tri-Valley cut the lead to to 5-3 after scoring two times themselves in the bottom of the second.  Hy-Vee got two more runs in the third inning and another two runs in the fourth inning.  Tri-Valley had just one more run in the bottom of the third.

Aden Woodraska had a single and an RBI.  Zach Pester and Gabriel VanDyke both had a single.  Pester pitched two innings and allowed five runs, three earned, on a hit and seven walks with four strikeouts.  VanDyke pitched 2/3 of an inning walking one and striking out one.  Blake Schmidt pitched 1 1/3 innings and allowed four earned runs on two hits and six walks.
