The Tri-Valley Mustangs lost a close five-set match to the Vermillion Tanagers on Thursday, September 8th.
Vermillion got the first advantage after an extra-time win in the first set. The Tanagers won the set by a score of 27-25. Tri-Valley continued to play well through the second and third sets earning wins in both. The Mustangs took the second set by a score of 25-20. They cruised through the third set and won 25-12. The Tanagers were able to force a fifth set by squeaking out a two-point win in the fourth set, 25-23. Vermillion then won the fifth and final set by two points, 15-13.
Ava Pearson finished with 10 kills, while Erica Bicknase had eight kills. Megan Wenzel finished with four ace serves. Cheyenne Hanson had 15 digs and two aces. Kenzie Atwood added 14 digs. Brookelyn Stieben finished with 20 set assists, and Nevaeh Grann had nine assists.
