The Tri-Valley Maroon 16U baseball team won and lost in their last two games. They earned a win on Wednesday, June 26th, but then took a loss on Sunday, June 30th.
Tri-Valley 14, Vermillion 8
On Wednesday Tri-Valley scored seven runs in the first two innings for an early 7-0 lead. Vermillion got one run in the bottom of third, but Tri-Valley added three more in the the top of the fourth for 10-1 lead. Vermillion scored five times in the bottom of the fourth to close the gap to 10-6. Tri-Valley answered with a three-run top of the fifth to extend the lead to 13-6. After Vermillion scored two times in the bottom of the fifth, Tri-Valley picked up another run in the top of the sixth.
Tristen Bunde had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs. Treyson Richter added a triple and two RBIs. Kaiden Bernards also had a hit with two RBIs. Mason Hemme, Jackson Williams, Parker Atwood, and Brody Dybvig all had one hit each. Brechen Frederick had an RBI.
Hamlin 8, Tri-Valley 4
A five-run inning by Hamlin proved to be the difference on Sunday. Hamlin scored first in the bottom of the opening inning for a 1-0 lead. Tri-Valley tied the game in the second and then took a 2-1 lead in the top of the third. Hamlin then had a five-run bottom of the third for a 6-2 advantage. Each team scored two times in the bottom of the sixth.
Denton Bicknase had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs. Atwood had a double. Frederick, Bunde, Williams, and Kobe Krome all had one single each.
