Tri-Valley Boys Win Second Straight

The Tri-Valley Mustang boys won their second straight game with a 42-28 home win over the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies on Thursday, January 29th.

The Mustangs scored the first eight points of the game and held the lead throughout.  They led 8-2 at the end of the first quarter.  The Huskies cut the lead down to 12-9, but Tri-Valley ended the half with an 8-3 run for a 20-12 advantage.

Both teams scored in the single digits in the third quarter.  The Mustangs held a 9-8 scoring advantage and led 29-20 going into the fourth quarter.  The final quarter is where Tri-Valley pulled away.  The Mustangs pushed the lead to 35-22 and eventually won 42-28.

Tri-Valley shot 37% (15-41) from the field overall, 38% (6-16) on three-point shots, and 7-10 from the free-throw line.  Elk Point-Jefferson finished the game shooting 23% (10-44) overall, 14% (3-21) from three-point area, and 5-7 from the free-throw line.

Brady Jewett ended the game with 18 points and three rebounds.  Lawson Schneiderman had 14 points and 12 rebounds.  Mason Hemme added five points, two assists, and two steals.  Ty Oyen had four points, three assists, and two rebounds.
