Tri-Valley 17U White played two games on Thursday, July 17th. They earned a split in those games getting a win over HyVee but falling to Plains.
Plains 9, Tri-Valley White 3
Plains was able to pull away late in their 9-3 win over Tri-Valley. They scored three runs in the top of the first for a 3-0 lead. Tri-Valley got one run back in the bottom of the second. After Plains scored a run in the top of the third, Tri-Valley put two more runs on the board in the bottom of the third for a 4-3 score. Plains, however, scored three times in the top of the fifth and two more in the sixth to pull away for the 9-3 win.
Blake had two hits and an RBI. Zach also had two hits. Kadyn and Jack each had a single in the game. Zach also pitched four innings and allowed four runs, three earned, on four hits and three walks with six strikeouts.
Tri-Valley White 12, HyVee 6
Two big innings helped Tri-Valley to a come-from-behind win against HyVee later in the night. Tri-Valley scored two runs in the bottom of the first. HyVee took the lead, 4-2, with four runs in the top of the third. Tri-Valley responded with five runs in the bottom of the inning to go back in front 7-4. HyVee pulled within a run, 7-6, with two more runs in the fourth, but Tri-Valley scored five more times in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Zach had three hits, including two doubles, and three RBIs. Elijah had two hits and two RBIs. Bracken had two hits, one a double, and an RBI. Jack finished with a double and two RBIs. Kadyn and Luke each had a single, and Nathan finished with an RBI. Luke pitched three innings and allowed four earned runs on four hits and a walk with four strikeouts.
