The Tri-Valley 14U baseball team took part in the 2024 South Dakota VFW 14U State A Tournament in Beresford held Friday, July 26th through Sunday, July 28th. Tri-Valley lost both of their games in the tournament.
Dakota Valley 20, Tri-Valley 5
Dakota Valley built an early 4-0 lead with three runs in top of the first and one in the second. Tri-Valley cut the lead in half with two runs in the bottom of the second. Both teams added a run in the third to make the score 5-3. Dakota Valley scored the next five runs, four in the fourth and one in the fifth to extend the lead to 10-3. Tri-Valley again cut the lead in half, 10-5, with two runs in the bottom of the fifth. Dakota Valley, however, scored three times in the sixth and then had a seven-run seventh inning.
Kobe Krome had two hits, one a triple, and two RBIs. Dante Nehman finished with two singles and an RBI. Lawson Schneiderman added two singles. Abbott Moeller and Cooper Durick both had one hit each. Jaxson Rise finished with an RBI.
Wagner 17, Tri-Valley 2
In Friday’s consolation game, Wagner scored early and in every inning for the 17-2 win. They scored three runs in the top of the first inning. Tri-Valley got one run in the bottom of the inning to make the score 3-1. Wagner added another four runs in the top of the second. Again Tri-Valley had just one run in the bottom of the inning for a 7-2 score. Wagner added four more in the third and six in the fourth before the game ended on the 15-run rule.
Moeller had a single and an RBI in the game. Nehman had the only other hit for Tri-Valley.
