The Tri-Valley 14U Maroon baseball team traveled to Volga and rolled past Volga Navy to a 16-5 win on Tuesday, July 8th.
Tri-Valley scored three times in the top of the first, sixth in the second, and three more in the third for a 12-0 lead. They would get one more run in the top of the fourth. Volga scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth to make the score 13-3. Tri-Valley added three more in the top of the fifth. Volga plated two runs in the bottom of the fifth, but the game ended on the 10-run rule.
Gerrit Koopman had three hits and three RBIs. Paxton Felsheim also had three hits. Nolan Campbell had two hits and an RBI. Bentley McMillen also had two hits. Trey Sorenson added a double with two RBIs. Elliot Powell finished with a single and an RBI. Legend Frederick had a hit, and Will Winter had an RBI.
Koopman pitched three innings and allowed three earned runs on no hits and three walks with three strikeouts. Winter pitched two innings and allowed two unearned runs on two hits and three walks with two strikeouts.
