The Tri-Valley 14U Maroon baseball team improved to 8-8 on the season with two wins on back-to-back days. They defeated Parker 27-7 on Tuesday, July 1st and then beat Elkton 12-2 on Wednesday, July 2nd.
Tri-Valley 27, Parker 7
Tri-Valley had two double-digit innings and belted 15 hits in their big win over Parker. They scored 11 times right away in the top of the first inning. Both teams scored three times in the second inning. Parker also added four runs in the bottom of the third to make the score 14-7. Tri-Valley then had a 13-run fourth inning before the game ended on the 15-run rule.
Porter Amundson and Nolan Campbell each had two hits and three RBIs. Reed Smith had two singles with two RBIs. Gerrit Koopman also had two hits and an RBI. Elliot Powell added a double and three RBIs. Trey Sorenson had a single and two RBIs. Legend Federick, Paxton Felsheim, and Will Winter all had a single and an RBI. Bentley McMillen and Connor Bannwarth both had a single. Brody Williams added an RBI.
Tri-Valley 12, Elkton 2
The offense for Tri-Valley kept rolling the next day. They scored five times in the bottom of the first inning for a 5-0 lead. Tri-Valley added five more in the bottom of the third for a 10-0 lead. Each team would score a run in both the fourth and fifth innings. The game ended on the 10-run rule after five innings.
McMillen had four hits, one a double, and three RBIs. Felsheim had two hits, one a double, and two RBIs. Koopman finished with two doubles and an RBI. Smith also had two hits. Amundson added a double and an RBI. Campbell, Winter, and Powell all had one hit each. Winter pitched three innings and allowed two hits and a walk with two strikeouts. Sorenson pitched two innings and allowed two runs, one earned, on two walks with one strikeout.
