String of Runs Leads to Win for Tri-Valley Baseball

The Tri-Valley high school baseball team scored in six of the seven innings against Tri-County in Irene on Monday, March 31st.  The string of runs in almost every inning helped them to a 14-4 victory.

Tri-Valley scored three times in the top of the first inning due to errors for an early 3-0 lead.  Tri-County got two runs back in the bottom of the inning to make the score 3-2.  Treyson Richter had an RBI fly-out in the top of the second inning.  Three more runs scored on errors in the inning which extended the lead to 7-2.  Tri-County got one run back in the bottom of the second for a 7-3 score.

After a scoreless third inning, Tri-Valley then went on a string of scoring.  They scored two runs in the fourth inning, one in the fifth, three more in the sixth inning, and finally a single run in the seventh.  Tri-County did score a run in the bottom of the fourth.

Denton Bicknase had two hits, one a double, and an RBI.  Brody Dybvig added two singles with an RBI.  Evan Focken ended with a double and two RBIs.  Richter had a single and an RBI.  Cole Hendrixson had a single, and Cooper Durick added an RBI.

Focken pitched 3 1/3 innings and allowed four runs, one earned, on four hits and four walks with four strikeouts.  Dybvig threw 3 2/3 innings and allowed a hit and two walks with four strikeouts.
