Second Inning Rally Leads to Win for Tri-Valley Baseball

A four-run second inning was key to an 8-3 win for Tri-Valley over Hamlin on Sunday, May 12th.

Both teams scored a run in the first inning.  Tri-Valley then had their four-run second inning to go ahead 5-1.  Hamlin cut the lead to 5-3 after two runs in in the third inning.  Tri-Valley added some insurance runs in the later innings.  They scored two runs in the fifth and another in the sixth.

Carter Sorenson had three hits and two RBIs.  Alex Wingen finished with two hits, one a double, and two RBIs.  Everett Althoff finished with two doubles and an RBI.  Cyrus Kirstein also had two hits and an RBI.  Nathan Madison added a single.  Tyler Groenewold pitched six innings and allowed three runs, all unearned, on no hits and six walks with 10 strikeouts.  Wingen pitched an inning and had three strikeouts.
