Facing Volga for the second time in the tournament, Baltic/Colton lost in dramatic fashion 14-13 in eight innings on Thursday, July 25th. The loss ended the season for Baltic/Colton with an overall record of 4-13.
Baltic/Colton built an early 7-0 lead. They scored a run in the top of the first and six more in the top of the second. Volga then rallied for nine straight runs. They scored two in the bottom of the second, three in the third, and four in the fourth for a 9-7 lead. Baltic/Colton tied the game 9-9 with two runs in the top of the fifth. Volga regained the lead in the bottom of the inning with three runs, 12-9.
Neither team scored in the sixth inning, and Volga held a 12-9 lead going into the final inning. Baltic/Colton rallied for three runs in the top of the seventh, two of the runs on two outs, to tie the game 12-12. After a scoreless bottom of the inning, the game went into extra innings. Baltic/Colton took the lead, 13-12, with a run in the top of the eighth. Volga got a walk, reached on an error that scored the tying run, and then hit an RBI sacrifice fly to win the game.
Tate Feucht had four hits, three of them doubles, and three RBIs. Beau Keith added three hits, one a double, and three RBIs. Everett Althoff finished with three hits, including a double, and an RBI. Carter Sorenson had a triple and single with two RBIs. Tyler Groenewold had a single and an RBI. Nathan Madison had a single. Cody Lofswold had two RBIs, and Beau Breece had one RBI.
