Quarrier Boys Lock Down Mustangs in Second Half

The Dell Rapids Quarrier boys held Tri-Valley to just 13 second half points which helped the Quarriers to a 57-35 win on Thursday, February 6th.

Dell Rapids built a double-digit lead in the first quarter, but the Mustangs cut the lead to 19-14 by quarter’s end.  The Quarriers maintained their lead in the second quarter and ended the first half with a 27-22 lead.  The Dell Rapids defensed shut down the Mustangs in the second half.  They held Tri-Valley to just five points in the third quarter while extended the lead to 44-27 going into the fourth quarter.

Tri-Valley shot 24% (13-54) overall, 30% (8-27) from three-point area, and 1-2 from the free-throw line.  The Quarriers shot 41% (19-46) overall in the game, 30% (6-20) on three-point shots, and 65% (13-20) from the free-throw line.

Brady Jewett led the Mustangs with 15 points and two rebounds.  Teagin Gacke had seven points and three rebounds.  Mason Hemme and Alex Wingen both had three points each.  Wingen also had five rebounds.  Aiden Bunde, Tristen Bunde, and Landon Hughes all had two points each.
