Mustangs Fall Short in Close Battle with Wagner

The Tri-Valley Mustang volleyball team traveled to Wagner on Saturday, October 5th.  The two teams battled hard all match long, and the Red Raiders took the match 3-2.

Each team won a set in the first two sets, the two sets that had the largest point margin.  Wagner won the first set by a score of 25-17.  Tri-Valley responded with a win in the second set 25-18.  The Mustangs would also win the third set, but by just two points, 25-23.  The next two sets needed extra time to determine a winner.  Wagner would force a fifth set after a very hard fought 30-28 win.  The final set would need just one extra point as the Red Raiders would win 16-14.

Tori O’Toole had a team high 16 kills.  Maddie Wenzel finished with 14 kills.  Brooke Steineke added 26 digs and six ace serves.  Macey Boese had 18 digs and four ace serves.  Abby Wagner and Emily Wenzel each had 18 set assists.
