Mustang Girls Pull Away from Huskies in Middle Quarters

The Tri-Valley Mustang girls outscored the Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies 30-15 in the middle quarters to help them to a 56-38 victory at home on Thursday, January 29th.

After a little back-and-forth in the first quarter, the Mustangs led 12-11 going into the second quarter.  Tri-Valley led by just two points 18-16 before ending the half with a 30-21 lead.  The big run came in the third quarter when the Mustangs outscored the Huskies 12-5 to extend the lead to 42-26 going into the fourth quarter.

Tri-Valley shot 41% (21-51) overall, 40% (12-30) from three-point area, and 2-7 from the free-throw line.  Elk Point-Jefferson was 38% (12-32) from the field overall, 15% (2-13) on three-point shots, and 63% (12-19) from the free-throw line.

Rowyn Gacke had 14 points, two rebounds, four assists, and two steals.  Mattie Huwe added 13 points, five rebounds, and three assists.  Hailey Sorenson ended with seven points, three rebounds, and three steals.  Peyton Vogt also had seven points with two steals.
