The Tri-Valley Mustang boys wrestling team placed second overall at the Region 2B meet in Elk Point on Saturday, February 21st. The Mustangs finished with 261.5 points. Canton won the region team title with 289 points.
Connor Glassford (120), Owen Bunde (132), Cole Hendrixson (144), and Landyn Reiser all won their respective weight classes. Legend Frederick (106), Treyson Richter (157), Brody Dybvig (190), and Luke Nehlich (285) all placed second.
Alex McFarland (138) and Owen Effling (150) both had third-place finishes. Xavier Yount was fourth in the 215-pound class. Sean King (113) and Jackson Williams (165) each had fifth-place finishes. Jaxton Rinehart (126) finished 1-2 on the day.
The State Championships will be held in Sioux Falls on Thursday, February 26th through Saturday, February 28th.
