The Tri-Valley Mustang boys built a big lead and then held off the Milbank Bulldogs 58-50 at the Dak-12/NEC Clash in Madison on Saturday, January 31st.
Tri-Valley was able to build a six-point lead, 12-6, by the end of the first quarter. The second quarter is were the Mustangs really padded their lead. They outscored Milbank 21-10 for a 33-16 lead going into halftime. The Bulldogs cut the lead 46-34 going into the fourth quarter. Milbank again outscored the Mustangs in the fourth quarter, but the Mustangs were able to hold for the win.
The Mustangs shot 47% (18-38) from the field overall, 38% (6-16) on three-point attempts, and 80% (16-20) from the free-throw line. Milbank finished the game shooting 34% (19-56) overall, 25% (6-24) on three-point shots, and 60% (6-10) from the free-throw line.
Brady Jewett had 27 points, four rebounds, two steals. Mason Hemme had nine points, three rebounds, and three steals. Kobe Krome finished with eight points. Ty Owen ended with six points, 11 rebounds, and two assists. Tristen Bunde also had six points.
