After back-to-back seasons in which the entire golf team qualified for state, this year’s Tri-Valley Mustang boys golf team will be rather young. The 2020 team had four juniors and a senior that qualified for state for the first time in school history. The 2021 team had four seniors and one junior that also qualified for state. This year’s team will only have one returning senior and one sophomore who golfed in all the varsity regular season meets.
“I expect this year will be a great chance for some younger golfers to get some experience to help us grow for the future. I’m expecting our returning golfers to continue to grow and have good seasons,” said head coach Brandon DeWitt.
The two returning players this year are senior Mayson Rise and sophomore Carson Sanders.
Tri-Valley’s first tournament of the season will be the West Central Early Bird at Central Valley Golf Course in Hartford on Monday, August 15th.
