Madison Takes Match over Tri-Valley

The Tri-Valley Mustang volleyball team traveled to Madison on Thursday, September 25th.  Tri-Valley fell to the Bulldogs in four sets by scores of 10-25, 25-22, 18-25, and 21-25.

The Mustangs took a 3-1 lead to start the match.  They led by two points at 6-4, but Madison went on a 5-1 run for a 9-7 lead.  That run sparked the Bulldogs.  They finished the opening set on a 16-3 run for the 25-10 score.

Tri-Valley started quick in the second set and grabbed a 7-2 lead.  The Bulldogs responded with an 8-3 run to tie the score 10-10.  The two teams traded points and were tied 14-14, 16-16, 19-19, and 21-21.  The Mustangs then scored the next two points for a 23-21 lead to help them to a 25-22 win.

The Mustangs again started with a lead in the third set, 5-3.  Madison tied the score 7-7, and the two teams were tied again 10-10.  Tri-Valley went back in front 14-11, but the Bulldogs went on a 7-1 run for an 18-15 lead.  That run kept Madison in the lead all the way to the 25-18 win.

For the fourth straight set, Tri-Valley started with a lead, 7-3.  They continued to hold a 9-7 advantage, but Madison once again rallied.  The Bulldogs took an 11-9 lead and then pushed it to 18-14.  Tri-Valley got within three, 21-18, but Madison held for the 25-21 win.

Emry Jones had 10 kills and three ace serves.  Brooke Steineke finished with nine kills, 15 digs, and four ace serves.  Emily Wenzel had 25 set assists and two blocks.  Kadence Davey added 13 digs..
