Jaxson Rise delivered the game-winning RBI in the top of the fifth inning in a 3-2 win for Tri-Valley Maroon 14U over Madison Gold on Thursday, July 11th.
After three scoreless innings to start the game, Daniel Richardson scored on an error, and Evan Focken delivered an RBI single to put Tri-Valley ahead 2-0. Madison tied the game in the bottom of the fourth with two runs. Kobe Krome started the fifth inning with a triple. Two batters later Rise delivered an RBI ground out to put Tri-Valley ahead 3-2, which turned out to be the game-winning run.
Focken finished with a single and an RBI. Krome had a triple. Richardson, Abbott Moeller, and Reed Smith all had a single each. Rise added an RBI. Lawson Schneiderman pitched four innings and allowed two runs, one earned, on three hits and two walks with three strikeouts. Smith pitched three innings and allowed a hit with six strikeouts.
