Dell Rapids Pulls Away from Mustang Girls in Second Half

The Tri-Valley Mustang girls fell victim to a record-setting performance in Dell Rapids on Thursday, February 5th.  The single-game three-point record was set as the Dell Rapids Quarriers pulled away for a 69-59 win.

Tri-Valley grabbed an early 8-3 lead with 5:30 to go in the first quarter.  They continued to lead 10-5 with 3:30 left.  Dell Rapids would go on a 6-0 run to take an 11-10 lead.  They led 14-12 at the end of the quarter.  The Quarriers maintained that lead in the quarter and held a 28-25 advantage at halftime.

The Mustangs went on a run in the third quarter and grabbed a 35-34 lead with 5:00 to play in the quarter.  Dell Rapids would regain the lead and were ahead by two points, 50-48, going into the final quarter.  The fourth quarter is where the Quarriers would pull away for the win.

Tri-Valley shot 35% (23-65) in the game, 17% (4-23) from three-point area, and 56% (9-16) from the free-throw line.  Dell Rapids finished the game shooting 40% (22-55) overall, 45% (10-22) on three-point shots, and 65% (15-23) from the free-throw line.

Rowyn Gacke finished with 23 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and three steals.  Hailey Sorenson had nine points and four rebounds.  Jaidyn McMillen and Kadence Davey also had nine points each.  Mattie Huwe ended with six points, five rebounds, and four steals.
