Mustang Boys Fall to Dakota Valley in Make-up Game

The Tri-Valley Mustang boys hosted the Dakota Valley Panthers in a make-up game on Saturday, February 21st.  The Panthers overcame a first half deficit to get a 59-43 win.

The Mustangs opened the game with a 9-2 run.  They would end the first quarter with an 11-5 advantage.  Dakota Valley tied the game 13-13 with about 5:00 to play in the second quarter.  After Tri-Valley went back in front 15-13, the Panthers ended the half on a 10-2 run for a 23-17 halftime lead.  That spurt gave Dakota Valley momentum in the second half.  They outscored the Mustangs 21-14 in the third quarter for a 44-31 lead going into the fourth quarter.  They scored the first 11 points of the fourth quarter to extend the advantage to 55-31 with 5:00 to go in the game.

Tri-Valley shot 37% (16-43) overall in the game, 27% (3-11) on three-point attempts, and 67% (8-12) from the free-throw line.  Dakota Valley was 45% (22-49) shooting overall, 44% (11-25) from three-point area, and 4-6 from the free-throw line.

Ty Oyen finished with 12 points and four rebounds.  Lawson Schneiderman had 11 points, three rebounds, and two steals.  Brady Jewett ended with eight points.  Mason Hemme had seven points, three rebounds, and three steals.  Kobe Krome added three points and five rebounds.
