Sioux Falls Christian Pulls Away in Second Half in Physical Battle with Tri-Valley Girls

The Sioux Falls Christian Chargers pulled away from the Tri-Valley Mustangs in a hard-fought, physical battle at Tri-Valley High School on Tuesday, February 10th.  The Chargers outscored the Mustangs 31-17 in the second half for a 67-48 win that saw the two teams combined to shoot 62 free throws.

The Mustangs opened the game with a 5-0 run.  The two teams would trade runs in the first quarter, and Tri-Valley held a 16-14 lead at the end of the quarter.  The Chargers would take a 10-point lead, 34-24, with 3:15 to play in the half.  Tri-Valley cut the lead in half by halftime, 36-31.

Sioux Falls Christian, however, would opened the second half with a 10-2 run to go ahead 46-33 with 4:35 to play in the third quarter.  They kept the momentum going and extended their lead to 57-39 going into the final quarter.

Tri-Valley shot 28% (13-46) overall in the game, 23% (3-13) on three-point shots and 66% (19-29) from the free-throw line.  Sioux Falls Christian finished 41% (22-54) overall shooting, 13% (2-15) on three-point attempts, and 64% (21-33) from the free-throw line.

Rowyn Gacke had 23 points, 10 rebounds, and four steals in the game.  Peyton Vogt added 10 points.  Mattie Huwe ended with five points, four rebounds, and three steals.  Hailey Sorenson had four points.  Danika Fluth had three points.
