Mustang Boys Suffer Two Losses to End Week

The Tri-Valley Mustang boys basketball team hosted the Mt Vernon/Plankinton Titans and Flandreau Fliers on back-to-back nights on Thursday, January 8th and Friday, January 9th.  The Mustangs dropped both games to fall to 2-4 on the year.

Tri-Valley got out to a 10-point lead, 16-6, in the first quarter and led 18-12 at the quarter break.  The Titans cut the lead down to just one point, 26-25, by halftime.  Mt Vernon/Plankinton then had a big second half.  The Titans outscored the Mustangs 21-9 in the third quarter to lead 46-35.  They continued their roll in the fourth quarter for the win, 61-43

Kobe Krome had 13 points and four rebounds.  Ty Oyen finished with 11 points, five rebounds, and three assists.  Brady Jewett also had 11 points and three rebounds.  Mason Hemme had five points.

The Mustangs had another quick start against the Fliers on Friday.  They led 7-3 early in the game, but Flandreau ended the first quarter with a 14-10 lead.  The Fliers pushed their lead to 29-18 by halftime.  Flandreau seemed to put the game away in the third quarter after they outscored the Mustangs 18-6 for a 47-24 lead going into the fourth quarter.  The Fliers won 59-37.

Jewett had 14 points, four rebounds, and two steals.  Krome had six points.  Dante Nehman also had six points and three rebounds.  Oyen finished with five points.
