The Tri-Valley Mustang boys wrestling team started the 2025-2026 season at the Top of the Rock Tournament in Dell Rapids on Saturday, December 5th. The Mustangs finished second as a team with 146.5 points. Canton took the top spot with 222.5 points.
Connor Glassford (126, 3-0), Owen Bunde (132, 3-0), and Landyn Reiser (175, 2-0) all won their respective weight classes. Sean King (120, 2-1) and Alex McFarland (150, 2-1) both placed second. Legend Frederick (113, 3-1), Jaxton Rinehart (144, 2-1), and Major Richter (165, 3-1) finished third in their weight classes. Chase King (106, 2-2) and Braxton Kirstein (138, 1-2) both had fourth-place finishes.
Marcus Oberg (157, 0-2), Zachary Nehlich (190, 0-2), Will Winter (215, 0-2), and Elliot Powell (285, 0-2) all took part in the tournament as well.
