Tri-Valley Volleyball Picks up Road Win in Baltic

The Tri-Valley Mustang volleyball team picked up a straight-set match win against the Baltic Bulldogs in Baltic on Monday, October 13th.  The Mustangs won by scores of 25-19, 25-22, and 25-23.  Tri-Valley used big runs in each of the three sets.

The first set started with a 2-2 tie.  Tri-Valley went in front 7-5 and then 11-7.  The Bulldogs went on a 5-2 run to get within a point, 13-12.  Baltic continued that momentum and took an 18-15 lead.  The Mustangs were able to recover and went on a 7-0 run to retake the lead 22-18.  They finished the first set on a 3-1 scoring advantage for a 25-19 win.

The Bulldogs took an early 5-1 lead to start the second set.  They were able to extend that lead to 12-6 and then to 15-8.  Tri-Valley went on a 6-1 run to get within two points, 16-14.  Baltic continued to lead at 20-17, but the Mustangs rallied for three in a row to tie the score 20-20.  After another tie at 22-22, Tri-Valley finished the second set on another 3-0 run for a 25-22 victory.

The Mustangs held a one-point lead, 3-2, to start the third set.  Baltic went on an 8-1 run to go in front 10-4.  The Bulldogs stayed in the lead at 13-7.  Once again the Mustangs rallied.  They went on an 8-2 run to tie the score 15-15.  They continued the run and went in front 18-16.  The lead grew to three points for the Mustangs, 23-20.  Baltic tried to force extra points and got within a point, 24-23, but Tri-Valley was able to get the final point for a 25-23 win.
