Tri-Valley Maroon 14U opened the Region 4A tournament with a win over West Central on Monday, July 15th.
Tri-Valley scored the first seven runs to help them to a 15-3 win. They scored two in the bottom of the first, four in the bottom of the second, and another run in the third for a 7-0 lead. West Central scored two times in the top of the fourth to make the score 7-2, but Tri-Valley added eight more runs in the bottom of the fourth. West Central got just one run in the top of the fifth.
Cooper Nielsen had a triple and two RBIs. Brechen Frederick finished with a single and two RBIs. Treyson Ricther also had a triple with an RBI. Abbott Moeller added a single and an RBI. Kobe Krome and Dante Nehman both had one hit each. Cooper Durick and Lawson Schneiderman each had one RBI. Evan Focken pitched 4 1/3 innings and allowed three runs, two earned, on three hits and five walks with four strikeouts. Krome pitched 2/3 of an inning.
