Dell Rapids Mudcats defeated Salem, 10-6, on Tuesday night and maintain a slight lead in the Cornbelt standings. With the win, the Mudcats are 7-1 in league play while Canova is 6-1. Canova will host Humboldt tonight while other games include Colman at Canistota, Madison at Flandreau, Lennox at Harrisburg, Salem at Tea, and the Mudcats and PBR playing one another. Scores from tonight’s (Thursday) action will be posted Friday under the ‘sports tab’.
Dell Rapids Hosting Little League Tournament
Dell Rapids will play host to a Little League baseball tournament today (June 1), tomorrow (June 2), and Sunday (June 3). Fifteen teams will participate in this year’s tournament from Dell Rapids, Humboldt, Garretson, Brookings and Fargo. Games will be played on fields A, B, E and F throughout the weekend beginning tonight at 6:00 p.m. One member from each team will also get to participate in a home run derby with prizes awarded by Scheel’s and Augustana College. The tournament championship game will be played at 4:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon. Big Sioux Media will have the scores of each game.

Cornbelt Baseball
A Sunday night without Cornbelt Baseball, but that was the case last night. Due to the Memorial Holiday weekend, as is the case with the league, no games were scheduled for last night, but a full slate of games are scheduled for tomorrow night (May 29th). Dell Rapids with Four Teener Teams
Dell Rapids is home to four Teener baseball teams this summer. There will be two 13-14 Teener teams and two 15-16 Teener teams. All four teams will compete in their respective age division of the I-29 League. Bruce Mogen is the head coach for one 13-14 team, and Monte Kerzman is the head coach for the other team. Dale Solberg coaches one of the 15-16 teams, while Nate Alfson is the head coach for the other team. Each of the four teams has their very own page on Big Sioux Media. Their pages can be found under the Sports tab on the main menu.
10u Traveling Baseball Team Wins in Madison
The 10u traveling baseball team from Dell Rapids played in the Madison Early Bird Tournament over the weekend in Madison. The team came home as champions of the tournament.

All the boys are currently on one of the three Pee-Wee teams from Dell Rapids in the Dell Rapids Little League Association which play their games in the MinnDak League.
