The Dell Rapids Quarriers girls basketball team evened their season record to 2-2 Tuesday, December 18th, when they defeated Garretson at home, 42-31. Karen Eddy of Dell Rapids was on fire in the first quarter nailing three jumpers from the deep outside for nine points, while teammate Julia Rice added five points. The Qurriers took a 14-6 lead after one period of play. By halftime the Dell Rapids girls were up by nine points and looked like they would be playing this game a lot better than they did in the Entringer Classic. In the second half, a very aggressive defensive effort, good blocking out on rebounds, and a quick spurt to start the 3rd quarter led Dell Rapids to the win. Eddy and Rice led the scoring for the game with 15 and 10 respectively. For Garretson, Haley Edmundson led the scoring attack with 20 points.
The Quarriers will host Elk Point-Jefferson on Friday, December 21st.
