The Dell Rapids Quarriers ran their winning streak to nine in a row with a 59-35 win over the Mt Vernon/Plankinton Titans at home on Tuesday, February 7th. The game marked the first of four straight home games to end the regular season for Dell Rapids.
The Quarriers defense held the Titans to just four points in the first quarter as Dell Rapids led 13-4 at the first break. Dell Rapids was able to push the lead to 37-15 by halftime. Both teams scored 12 points each in the third quarter as Dell Rapids maintained their 22-point lead at 49-27. Dell Rapids outscored the Titans 10-8 in the final quarter for the win.
Two players finished the game in double figures for Dell Rapids. Both Jayda Knuppe and Arial Hoffman ended the game with 15 points each. Averi Pankonen tallied eight points, and Kali Graham and Emma Paul both had six points each. Knuppe led the team with eight rebounds. Graham, Paul, and Kaylee Hennen all had five rebounds.
