After a slow first quarter start, the Dell Rapids Quarriers were able to shut down the Flandreau Fliers and earned a 61-43 win on Monday, January 30th, in Flandreau. The win was the fifth in a row for Dell Rapids.
The Fliers had the lead at the end of the first quarter at 14-11. The Quarriers held Flandreau to just six second quarter points and had the lead at halftime 27-20. The Quarriers used a big third quarter to extend their lead. Dell Rapids outscored Flandreau 25-12 to take a 52-32 lead heading into the final quarter for the win.
Three players scored in double figures for Dell Rapids. Mason Schmidt led the Quarriers in scoring with 16 points. Jeffrey Schuch had 11 points and 12 rebounds. Sheldon Siemonsma added 10 points and finished with three blocked shots. Mason Peter had eight points, and Tanner Heim had seven points and 15 rebounds.
