The Dell Rapids Quarrier JV boys basketball team played a great game against the Sioux Falls Christian Chargers on Tuesday, January 8th, winning 51-37. Dell Rapids led 17-6 after the first quarter and never looked back. Riley Schmidt led the Quarriers with 12 points, eight of them in the first quarter. Ty Hoglund had 11 points in the second half. Ben Hammer and Cody Nielsen dominated inside and combined for 12 points and key rebounds. Hitting 3-pointers for the Quarriers were Zane Schumaker, Schmidt, and Hoglund. The Quarriers were 5-9 from the free throw line.The freshmen boys suffered a 13-64 loss to Sioux Falls Christian. Brett Mogen led the Quarriers in scoring with nine points, while Cordell Wright chipped in four. Mogen was also 2-2 from the free throw line.
