The Madison Broncos scored five runs in the final two innings to force extra innings, and then won the game in the thirteenth over Dell Rapids PBR on Tuesday, July 1st. PBR was leading 6-1 heading into the top of the eighth inning, but Madison scored four times, and then tied the game with two outs in the ninth inning on an RBI single by Brian Miller. Neither team was able to score until the thirteenth inning. Madison scored two times in the top of the inning on a bases-loaded walk and a fielder’s choice.
Mick Hoglund led Dell Rapids with two singles. Dan Conrad, Nate Alfson, Matt Kolbeck, Blake Harms, and Colin Karst each had a single in the game.
Drew Eldeen pitched seven innings, striking out ten. Nate Alfson pitched into the thirteenth inning, picking up the loss. Matt Schoeber earned the win for Madison.
Dell Rapids PBR will play the Renner Monarchs in Renner on Sunday, July 6th at 7:30 p.m. The game will be webcast on Big Sioux Media.
