The Humboldt/Hartford legion baseball team played three games in three days from Friday, June 17th through Sunday, June 19th.
Humboldt/Hartford 1, Big Stone 0
Seth Gabbert threw a no-hitter for Humboldt/Hartford while recording 13 strikeouts, and Andrew Zimmer had the game-winning RBI single in the top of the seventh in a 1-0 win over Big Stone on Friday.
Humboldt/Hartford had at total of six hits in the game, two of them coming in the top of the seventh. Loren Jacobsen had a one-out single. Gavin Koch laid down a sacrifice bunt to move Jacobsen to second, and then Zimmer delivered a two-out RBI single to left field scoring Jacobson for the game winner.
Jacobsen had two hits. Zimmer also had two hits and an RBI. Deuce Sherrard and Jack Linneman both had hits as well. Gabbert threw all seven innings and allowed just one walk with his 13 strikeouts.
Redfield 7, Humboldt/Hartford 3
Redfield scored seven unanswered runs early in the game in a 7-3 win on Saturday over Humboldt/Hartford. The first four runs for Redfield came in the bottom of the second. They added another in the bottom of the third, and two more in the bottom of the fourth.
Humboldt/Hartford got one run in the top of the fifth. Braden Herr reached on an error that also scored Jacobsen. Two more runs came home in the top of the sixth. Gabbert scored on a passed ball, and Derek Renken had an RBI single.
Renken had a single and RBI. Bennett Sebert finsihed with two hits. Jacobsen, Koch, and Gage Nelson all had a hit. Zimmer pitched three innings and allowed five runs, three earned, on six hits with one strikeout. Owen Heath also pitched three innings and allowed two earned runs on two hits and two walks with five strikeouts.
Humboldt/Hartford 10, Salem 0
Humboldt/Hartford came back strong on Sunday with a 10-0 win in five innings over Salem. Koch pitched all five innings allowing just one hit and three walks while striking out five.
Sebert broke a 0-0 tie in the bottom of the third with an RBI single. Jacobsen had an RBI single in the inning as well for an early 2-0 lead. Nelson had an RBI single in the bottom of the fourth to give Humboldt/Hartford a 3-0 advantage. Humboldt/Hartford took advantage of four Salem errors, two hits batters, and a walk and scored seven times to end the game on the 10-run rule.
Nelson had two hits and two RBIs. Sherrard had a double and three RBIs. Jacobsen and Sebert both had a single and an RBI. Camden McDonald also had a hit in the game.
