Flandreau Takes Control in Third Quarter in Win over Bulldog Girls

The Flandreau Fiers turned a nine-point halftime lead into a 25-point win, 64-39, over the De Smet Bulldogs on Tuesday, February 7th.

Flandreau built a 17-7 lead by the end of the first quarter.  The Bulldogs got the lead down to seven late in the second quarter and trailed 26-19 at halftime.  The Fliers, however, outscored De Smet 24-10 in the third quarter for a 50-29 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

The Bulldogs shot 40% (15-38) overall from the field, but just 1-15 on three-point attempts, and 57% (8-14) from the free-throw line.  Flandreau shot 59% (26-44) in the game, 36% (4-11) on three-point shots, and 80% (8-10) from the free-throw line.

Hazel Luethmers had 17 points, seven rebounds, and two assists.  Jada Burke added 12 points and two rebounds.  Cori Birkel had seven points, two rebounds, and three assists.  Alyssa Asleson had three points and three rebounds.
