Bulldog Girls Fall Just Short Against Warbirds

The De Smet Bulldogs (6-9) fell just short against the Wolsey-Wessington Warbirds at home on Thursday, February 2nd.  The Bulldogs had a small lead in the third quarter, but the Warbirds got the win 59-54.

Wolsey-Wessington had a three-point lead, 13-10, by the end of the first quarter.   They extended that lead in the second quarter, but only by a point, to 24-20 by halftime.  The Bulldogs started the third quarter on an 8-1 run and led 28-25 with 6:00 to play in the third quarter.  Wolsey-Wessington, however, ended the third quarter leading 39-36.

Hazel Luethmers had 19 points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals.  Jada Burke finished with 13 points seven rebounds, and five assists.  Alyssa Asleson had nine points and three assists.  Mirra Beck added eight points and seven rebounds.
